Data science is an interdisciplinary field aiming at extracting knowledge and insights from data by means of advanced statistics, data analytics, artificial intelligence, machine learning and their related methods. Due to the technological advances, data is becoming more available and goes beyond volume, variety, and velocity alone. In addition, industry is now becoming more data-driven and automated. Therefore, data science is now more important to deal with industry’s complex data-driven business, and data scientists are in high demand.

This talk will introduce data science with several industry-scale examples using Python package.

Speaker Profile:
Dr Amine Ait Si Ali is a data scientist with several years of experience in both academia and industry in (big) data analytics, machine learning, artificial intelligence and big data analytics platforms. He has been actively involved with the design, development and deployment of advanced data analytics methods at industry scales. Within Baker Hughes, a GE company, he works on industry-focused projects involving the discovery of information hidden in vast amounts of data to make smarter decisions to deliver even better solutions to tackle the needs of clients.
